Animal Licensing
Purchasing a registration tag and attaching it to your pet’s collar is one of the most important things you can do as a responsible pet owner. Displaying a current registration tag on your pet’s collar makes it easy for animal control officers and shelter employees to quickly locate a lost pet’s owner information. It could be your pet’s ticket home!

Fayette County encourages spaying and neutering. The term for a registration tag is based on rabies vaccination date, and registration tags expire on the anniversary of the rabies vaccination. Proof of rabies vaccination is required, and proof of spay or neuter is also required, if applicable.
Your pet’s metal registration tag should be worn on the collar at all times. You will receive a new metal registration tag each time you renew your dog’s registration.
