Burn Permit

Effective July 1, Burn Permits are required for all burning activities in Fayette County, TN. Please be advised that any unauthorized or non-approved burning activities are strictly prohibited. Individuals found conducting such activities will be subject to a fine.

Fayette County E911 Hyper‑Reach

The new telephone-based emergency alert system will provide rapid notification of hazardous and urgent situations using a mix of telephone calls and text messages and even TTY/TDD service for the hearing impaired.

Fill Material Transportation Permit

Effective April 1, 2023, the Fayette County Department of Public Works will require a Fill Material Transportation Permit for all persons or entities who transfer more than 10 loads of fill material to or from a specific site using county roads. “Fill Material” is defined as the material transported between locations when conducting fill operations.
Contact the Fayette County Department of Public Works Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at (901) 465-5222 to obtain a permit or learn more.
